Massive 7.2 Earthquake inTurkey, and a GoodBye

Yesturday as we prepared for a going away party for a beautiful family that has poured into our training here, a young lady felt her bed shake and move about some as she was resting.  She looked up at the light and then returned to her slumber.

Come to find out later that day that, the shake she felt must have been a tremor following the massive 7.2 earth quake in Eastern Turkey that happened at almost the exact same time she was figuring out what she had felt.
It wasn't until later that we saw the graphic images that hit the news waves.  Ava cried tonight as we prayed about what she had seen on TV while visiting a hotel today,  "Girls," she said "3 or four, only one was not blurred out and I saw blood and she was stuck between concrete.  Her leg was high, kind of by her face".  Ava is 9 now and has alot of big questions about the world that she sees around her.  And this shook her tender heart.

I prayed for her some but felt like she had to wrestle this one with her heavenly Father. What it means for her that she is so merciful and such a deep feeler. Her questions lately have been even thought provoking for me. I am impressed at her maturity and trust the Holy Spirit in her. This is not easy. Shepherding her heart as a little girl was a full time job, and it still is. But, it looks much different now. I cannot be her all in all anymore. Not that I ever was really....but, I must point her to God. Only He holds the keys to her desires, her heart and he knows her best because he created her!- What a relief.

God of mercy,
you know the secrets of all human hearts,
Hear my prayer
in the midst of destruction;
give them a  patience and hope,
so that under your protection and with you as my guide,
We can rest tonight with peace by our side.Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Would you please take the time right now and pray for....

1.) These men, women and children affected by this earthquake. Reports say up to 1,000 could be found dead. Many are injured and thousands of buildings are destroyed. Ask God for specifics that are on his heart for them. Prayer can be tapping into a conversation already going on in heaven. Intercede my friends intercede. Stand in the Gap.

2.)There is a thriving body of believers there, pray for there ability to rise up and meet the needs in their community.  Take ownership and through LOVE shine the light of JC.

3.)Ask the Father what role we should play, our peeps here.  The Kurdish conflict there in the east is dangerous along with a heap of political reasons we should not be there, but we do have a part to play.  We are willing and ready to obey the Father, what ever he asks.

This county is roughly the size of Texas, but to get there from here would be a weeks travel due to mountains and such.  We want so badly to play a part and be in on strategic times and seasons.  Our school prayed today and I will lead a worship time in the morning directed to what we can do.

Blessings to you all, thank you for taking the time to pray.
